Pages

This page has information on how to add, edit and delete pages.

Adding a Page

There are two types of pages that you can create

Website Page

  1. Click New Page
  2. Give the page a title
  3. Choose the parent page - if you would like this to be a parent page (main page on the menu bar), leave it blank
  4. Home Page lets you select which page is the Home, only one page at a time may be the home page.
  5. Hide in Menu allows you to hide pages from the menu.
  6. Privacy allows you to make pages secure and accessible by log-in.
  7. Save as Draft allows you to create pages one after the other
  8. When clicking Save and follow, it will take you to the page to edit straight away.

External Page

An external page allows you to add links to other sites in your menu by pasting URLs.

  1. Click New Page
  2. Give the page a title
  3. Click External Page
  4. Paste the link into the External URL box
  5. Choose the parent page - if you would like this to be a parent page (main page on the menu bar), leave it blank. Press Backspace to remove a parent page selected.
  6. Click save.

Hidden Pages

Hidden pages cannot be found on the menu. They are used for extra content which you may hyperlink to from other pages. 

  1. Click New Page or Click 'More' to Edit an existing Page.
  2. Give the page a title
  3. Choose the parent page - if you would like this to be a parent page (main page on the menu bar), leave it blank, Press Backspace to remove a parent page selected.
  4. Click 'Yes' in 'Hide in Menu' option.
  5. Click Save.

Hidden pages are identified by a tick in the 'Hidden' Column.

Private Pages

Private pages are pages which can only be accessed by logging in. They are secure pages which cannot be accessed by members outside of the school. 

  1. Click New Page or Click 'More' to Edit an existing Page.
  2. Give the page a title
  3. Choose the parent page - if you would like this to be a parent page (main page on the menu bar), leave it blank, Press Backspace to remove a parent page selected.
  4. Click 'Private' in 'Privacy' Option. 
  5. Select which group you would like to access this page (groups can be created in Users, click here to see how to create a group.)
  6. Click Save.

Private Pages are identified by the padlock icon next to the name of the page.

Editing a Page

  1. On the Dashboard click on the Sites Module
  2. Click the More button
  3. Click Options

Here you can

  • Change the Page Name
  • The Parent Page
  • Setting it as the Home Page
  • Hiding it in the menu
  • Making it a Private Page

Moving a page

There are two ways to move a page

  1. Click and hold on the page
  2. Drag to where you would like the page to go
  3. Release the click

Or

  1. There ae two arrows next to each page name
  2. Click each to move them up by one

Please note - if you are moving a root page that has sub-pages under it, all of the sub-pages will move as well

Deleting a Page

  1. On the Dashboard click on the Sites Module
  2. Click the More button
  3. Press Delete
  4. Click Confirm on the red pop-up at the bottom of the page

Once the page has been deleted you can reinstate the page

  1. Click Recycle Bin on the left-hand side of the page
  2. Click the three dots next to the site name

From here you can Restore or Delete Permanently

You can also restore or delete more than one at a time by ticking the boxes next to the name

 

Please note - If you delete a root page that has several sub-pages under it, it will delete the root and sub pages
